Island In The Sun

Raft3r and the gang went island hopping in Bohol.

We saw one area where a lot of boats were congregated.

Raft3r: "Ano meron don? (What's going on there?)"

Boatman: "Dulpin, ser."

Raft3r: "Ah, dolphin. Let's go there."

Boatman: "Yis, ser. Dulpin. Piro hwag tayu dyan. Sa iba ko kayu dalin. (I'll take you somewhere else.)"

Raft3r and friends exchanged glances.

Where was the boatman taking us? The dolphins were right there.

After 30 minutes, we heard the engine stop. We were in the middle of this huge body of water with no one and nothing in sight.

A few seconds passed and the dolphins appeared!

They were that close to us I could practically smell them. One almost jumped over our little bangka (boat).

Before I could take out my camera, the dolphins were all gone.

Who knew this experience would be so exhilarating.

So Mr. Dulpin, thank you for our very close encounter with the dolphins. You rock!

Another Day In Paradise

Nothing like a bevy of beauties with dark underarms to ruin an otherwise perfect vacation in paradise.

Heading West

Everything that could possibly go wrong with Raft3r's summer US vacation has already happened.

One of our travel buddies backed out. She was the reason why I said yes to this trip in the first place.

Thank you for abandoning Raft3r.

I thought of canceling the trip but my ticket was non-refundable. Re-booking came with several restrictions and a hefty fee.

Damn it.

My (SFO based) best friend who was supposed to be my designated driver for the entire trip has selfishly accepted a job in Australia and will depart the US in April.

Thank you for abandoning Raft3r. That Calvin Klein leather jacket is all MINE.

I now have no place to stay and would need to readjust my travel budget.

Would someone be nice enough to adopt Raft3r while he is in sunny California?

I wash dishes really well.

Deeper Underground

Things Raft3r learned from Buried:

1. The Blackberry is a very reliable mobile phone.

2. Call your parents in time of crisis.

3. Repeatedly saying "I'm American" can be annoying.

4. Good telephone manners matter.

5. Cursing is a good stress reliever.

6. Sand is definitely not man's best friend.

7. Human Resources is a piece of crap.

...But Seriously

Don't take me too seriously.

I don't.

These Boots Were Made For Walkin'

Hong Kong always remind me of New York.

People are rude. The streets are busy. Everyone is dressed to a T. Food carts abound. Nightlife is awesome.

The best way to explore both cities is by foot. I must have walked a thousand miles in my last Hong Kong trip.

Though walking is a good form of exercise, it also works out one's appetite.

Death And All His Friends

Why someone would kill himself is beyond me.

I know times are hard and life can be pretty unpredictable.

That, however, does not give a person the right to take his own life.

Life may not always turn out the way you want it to be. But you pick up the pieces and move on. You don't simply put a gun to your head.

The one thing I detest most in the world is a coward.

Make a guess.

Who Let The Dogs Out

Question of the day:

"Why are most dogs cuter than their human owners?"
