They say bad luck follows a person who crosses path with a black cat.
Raft3r may be a lot of things. Being superstitious sure ain’t one of them.
I am a big Loch Ness fan, believe in the existence of aliens, adhere to conspiracy theories, and think Elvis still lives.
As you can probably notice, Raft3r is pretty open minded. But the concept of superstition is a bit lame, if you ask me.
So a couple of weeks ago, a black cat walked pass me. Raft3r did not pay too much attention to this incident, until now. After all, black cats form a big part of the Mali Bay community.
Raft3r has lost both pins for his company sponsored and personal credit cards. I was out of town for work and badly needed some cash advance, but couldn’t find my ATM pins.
Besides the monetary constraint, my seldomly used Picanto got hit by a taxi. Fresh from its regular check up, my subcompact received some heavy hitting from an irresponsible cab driver.
Raft3r also lost his beloved Armani sunglasses.
All these occurred right after the black cat encounter.
Coincidence? Guess who’s a believer now.

bad news naman, so much for a guess-who's-back post! oh well, look at the positive side of all of those events, i'm sure there are. don't blame it on our feline friends who happened to be melanin-challenged. bwahaha. although balahibo nga pala itim 'no, kasi kung skin mismo, pare-pareho lang naman yun na manipis na pink. hehehe.
keep the posts coming yummy friend!
go ka na sa mini-tribute ko kay portia c, three posts down my latest. wala ng kaimbyerna dun pramis, not that i cared.
judayski, I'm about to go and visit you na nga. Naunahan mo ako, eh! Hehe
hahaha... are all black cats unlucky? because i really want to own a black cat.
btw, we were also in subic this weekend. went there for an overnight tambayan. it was my second time to pass by SCTEX. i do have some photos of it which im posting sometime in november. ganda nga talaga ng SCTEX.
the dong, Yup. Yun SCTEX. Sayang.
the dong, Nasa Legenda kami. Friday-Sunday. Sinama ko mga pamangkin ko. Habang trabaho ako, sila nasa beach. Kawayan ba yon?
kengkay, Hehe. Prayers answer a whole lot of issues. Totoo yan!
My lola used to tell me that I should jump thrice if you happpen to see a black cat to avoid bad luck. Oh well.
The photo quite scare me. I don't know why I do not have any liking for cats. You can probably ask me to hold a snake but not a cat or a monkey, must be the fur. haha
len, Must be the furs nga. Hehe
oh my goodness, i don't believe in superstitions myself... actually sometimes you can't halp but think about it, but i know i shouldn't. But i just remembered that i also saw a black cat just last week. And it was right outside the greenbelt chapel when i went there for a visit one morning. I didn't think much of it. What came to mind when i saw the black cat was the coincidence that it will be halloween soon (hehe, wala lang). Now that you've told your story, it just occurred to me that i think that it was around after that time that i lost my precious bracelet!! but i think it's still just a coincindence... mejo delikado rin kasi yung lock nung bracelet coz it's just held together by a magnet eh....
mitzi, Hehe. You are logical as ever!
I was about to say baka coincidence lang pero nagkasabay-sabay yata nang husto ang misfortunes mo. Effective daw according to someone I know. Hehehe. See you soon.
wendy, Asin? Tawas, pwede?
that was really unlucky. but i don't know if i could really believe, perhaps.. if the same thing happened to me too
Nothing but experience can make one a believer, right? To tell you the truth, I don´t believe in superstition BUT I would never go against it though. Contradictory, right? Whenever I see a black cat, I head back and try to circumvent the black cat´s path as far as possible. I don´t walk under ladders, break mirrors and if I am still eating when Eric leaves, I rotate my plate clockwise (my aunt who is a firm believer of black magic says if you don´t rotate your plate, your companion will be in an accident!)
My thing is that I may not believe them, yet on the small chance that they may be true, I try to follow the advices on how to avoid bad luck!
take care.
layla, Be careful what you wish for. Hehe
bernadette anne, Ang dami mong pamahiin pala. Nyahaha
liza, I-research ko yan sage. Will keep you posted. =P
coincidence lang siguro yan, don't blame it to our furry friends... i have a friend na sa sobrang galit sa mga pusa pinapaso yung mga buntot nila...wawa naman
Hehe
Aw!
Tsk tsk tsk...
I also don't believe in superstitions... but sometimes, medio ingat din ako.
Mahirap na...
brainteaser, It does help to be extra careful ba? Hehe
the truth? that's memory gap not the black cat... joc-joc!
