Pass The Dutch

Over the weekend, Raft3r visited an Amish community in Pennsylvania.

I know very little about the Amish. I have seen For Richer or Poorer. Though that would be a very inept representation of what their culture is really like.

Kill me now but I love that movie. It's funny as hell.

The Amish have a simplistic view in life. They don’t believe in material possessions. They have no electricity which cuts them off from the modern world.

Raft3r would love to simplify his own life. But cutting off electricity is a whole new ball game.

Hahahaha!

Yeah, cutting off electricity would be a bit too much.

Magbrown out lang ng isang oras e patay patay na tayo!

Hanga rin ako sa Amish ha. Mukhang di uso pabonggahan sa kanila. And to live w/o electricity...wow. Daig pa ang monks.

Amish community? cool. i have a fiction book about an Amish girl.

they are conservative.. but they set their kids free at one point in their lives and make them experience "the world" and then their kids would make a choice to marry one of their own or not.

at least that's what i read. wow. ha.. nice nice.

tina, That's true. What is even more amazing is after these kids experienced the "real world," more than 90% of them go back to their Amish ways.

mahirap nga yung buhay nila, pero nakaka intriga. what would i do without my shoes and accessories? isa o dalawang kulay lang ang mga damit nila. i dont like weaaring dresses pa naman. what about jeans?di uso sa kanila yon...ig

ig, Boy. You got serious issues, then. Hehe

Dapat pala ang mga nakapwesto sa Meralco dalhin dyan para matigil na ang pagtaas ng kuryente. Let those in Amish apply for their positions here:)

same with me. it's hard to give up electricity. it simply means, no cellphone, no laptop, no TV...no blog!

Raft3r said...

the dong, It's too much of a sacrifice to give it up. Pero kung never ka naman nagka-kuryente, di mo naman sya hahanap-hanapin din, diba? Hehe
