Tough

Married life is tough.
It is fun but tough.
It is exciting yet tough.

Marriage is tough.
It is enjoyable but tough.
It is blissful yet tough.

Marrying someone is tough.
It is romantic but tough.
It is exhilarating yet tough.

Loving is tough.
Only tough people can love truly.

Death Of A Bachelor

Raft3r is getting married.

It’s weird, huh? That’s not a typo.  You read that right.

Raft3r.  Marriage.  In one sentence.  Apparently, miracles do happen.

This pretty much puts an end to the adventures of the single guy.

On February 16, 2019, I will be saying “I do” to the most awesome girl on the planet.  This will take place in scenic Batanes.

For years, I have ranted about commitment and relationships.  Wanna relive them?  Read here.

How I fell in love is a whole other story.  That will be told on our wedding day.  Be there.

Falling In Love

The time between meeting and finally leaving is sometimes called falling in love.

Genius, isn't it?

This is one line I wish I have written myself. Sadly, credit belongs to musician Lisa Loeb.

Raft3r is envious.

Come On Get Up

Janet was late.

Show was for 8pm and it started an hour later.

But who cares? The show was a smash!

She worked the crowd. Danced like crazy. Sang - almost - every hit song. (Hey, Jan! You forgot "I Get Lonely." That's my favorite.)

Everyone left that evening with huge smiles on their faces. Indeed, it was money well spent.

The reviews are in. All are raving about my wifey.

I happen to like the previous tour better. Rock Witchu was more up close and personal for Raft3r. After all, we did high five (twice) in Oakland.

Love is spelled J-a-n-e-t.

Post script: As it turned out, the delay wasn't even wifey's fault. Long lines outside the venue prevented the concert from starting on time. And yes, it was SOLD OUT.

The Things We Do For Love

Because of love, Raft3r:

- once took an early morning cab ride from Mali Bay to Rizal just to see her;

- bought multiple copies of Janet albums;

- learned to compromise;

- was forced to be more patient;
- got up from deep slumber (numerous times) to pick her up from night shift;
- chose a DVD sale over a date;
- resisted the urge to tell her that she was freaking crazy;

- booked several luxury hotel rooms;

- turned into a cynic;
- learned to control premature ejaculation.

The Age Of Innocence

One of Raft3r’s adorable nieces will celebrate her 4th birthday in Hong Kong Disneyland on the 24th.

She may be young. But her words are so full of wisdom.

Consider these:

“Tito (Uncle), liars do not go to SM. They go to hell.”

“Do not talk to the driver while he’s driving. That’s a safety violation.”

“Lolo (Grandpa), I don’t like you today. You’re bad.”

“Thank you for the worst present ever, tito.”

“Look at me. I look nice and sexy, no?”

What Women Want

I love girls.

They are such fascinating creatures.

Just when you think you got them figured out, they turn over a new leaf.

They still remain a big mystery to Raft3r.

There are certain things about the opposite sex that continue to boggle me and make me scratch my head.

For instance:

- Why girls say no when they actually mean yes;

- Their affinity for bags, shoes, and accessories;

- Why girls head to the restroom in groups;

- How they can talk non stop;

- Why girls take so long to prepare for a date;

- The whole Twilight and Robert Pattinson phenomenon;

- Why girls are such drama queens;

- Plus the burning question: “Am I fat?”

- How girls can change their minds as fast as they change their hair color.

Waiting In Vain

A true test of love is patience – at least, for Raft3r it is.

If a girl can make me wait for at least two hours in order for her to get ready for our date and I won’t get pissed, that is a pretty good indication our relationship can last for a minimum of six months and subject to renewal.

Hole In My Heart (All The Way To China)

With the Hong Kong trip finally over, credit card payments are fast approaching.

Oh, man. I don’t even want to think about how much I spent on that trip.

But the kids had a grand time. That was the objective anyway.

Raft3r is your typical stupid tourist who only speaks English and refuses to learn the local language.

As soon as I stepped out of the plane, I knew I was in trouble.

Local folks have fear in their eyes when you talk to them in English. They get fidgety and answer in such a fast manner that they almost spit on you.

There is so much to love about Hong Kong.

Food is on the top of the list.

Yes, Raft3r eats octopus. Tastes just like chicken.

Public transportation in Hong Kong is awesome. It’s quick, convenient, and safe.

Here’s hoping the Philippine government can provide the same kind of transport service. A boy can dream, right?

February is the coldest month in Hong Kong. There is something sexy about women in winter clothes.

Even my nieces wore ear muffs. They got complimented a lot in Disneyland. Raft3r played the proud uncle.

While good genes run in the family, Raft3r might just be the odd man out.

Hate That I Love You

The Rihanna-Chris Brown lover’s quarrel has been hogging the headlines for quite sometime now.

It was only a couple of months back when these two love birds sang their hearts out in Manila.

Just recently, a picture of a heavily bruised Rihanna surfaced all over the net. It was pretty disturbing.

Raft3r is not a big fan of physical abuse towards women.

I do not understand how some chicks can take a beating from the men they love. When a guy turns Manny Pacquiao on you, take that as a clear indication that something is definitely wrong with your relationship.

Take the hint and dump the bastard.

As for those so-called macho women bashers, I have only this to say: Picking a fight with a girl is very unmanly.

That doesn't sound too macho now, right?
